Four 90-minute Virtual Workshops
Give yourself the sweet treat of self-myofascial release.
When we practice yoga, we work to stabilize, strengthen and lengthen our muscles to support our joints. When we add ball rolling methods into our regular routine, we get deep into the fascia and tissues that surround our muscles and joints, releasing sticky adhesions in the fascia matrix, promoting healthy movement and contraction of muscles, and exposing our body's blind spots that may be catalysts for pain or injury. Utilizing ball rolling techniques can interrupt destructive movement cycles and begin to fix the issues with your tissues, giving you more control over your health and well- being. |
Join me for this four-part virtual workshop series to learn how to incorporate ball rolling techniques into your yoga and self-care routine. The first three 90-minute workshops will include ball rolling, a gentle flow and guided meditation focused on different targeted areas of the body. The final 90-minute workshop includes a full body roll-out followed by guided Yoga Nidra practice.

DEEP DIVE INTO THE KOSHAS A 5-WEEK SERIES ON MONDAYS IN MARCH 2021 March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 8:30 - 9:15 a.m. We often think that WHO WE ARE is what we look like, how we feel, and what we think. Join me to take a deep dive into the subtle body layers to uncover your true self. In this five-week series, we will explore the Kosha layers—the physical, energetic, mental, wisdom and bliss bodies—through pranayama (breath control), guided meditation and discussion. SVADHYAYA SELF-STUDY SERIES: Jan. 13-28, 2021
No doubt 2020 has shaken up our normal routines and made us question what we know to be true. Maybe you have identified a newly-developed pattern in how you treat yourself or others and want to change. Or perhaps you have been given the gift of realizing that your old pre-Covid habits no longer serve you. Maybe you have discovered that you want to deepen your awareness of how you move through this world or you want to explore the yoga practice beyond asana.
Winter is nature's invitation to go inward, slow down and take time to self-reflect. In the New Year, we take stock of where we are in our lives and resolve to make changes to better ourselves. And the new moon--a symbol of new beginnings--gives us the opportunity to set clear intentions for personal and spiritual growth in the coming months. This is the perfect time to choose to shift and grow. When we set the intention to do so, we not only improve our own lives but the lives of everyone we touch.

Learn how lower back pain, sciatica and piriformis syndrome relate and what you can do about it. Basic body mechanics and posture will be discussed along with simple exercises to alleviate and possibly eliminate pain.
In her 16 years of teaching yoga, Jessica Rodgers has successfully helped students alleviate or eliminate lower back pain, piriformis syndrome and sciatica by observing common patterns and applying simple stretches and strengtheners. Although she no longer teaches yoga regularly, Jessica is compelled to share this basic knowledge in order to keep these tools accessible to the mainstream.
Jessica Rodgers has been a yoga student for 28 years and a teacher for 16 and is the previous owner of Soma Yoga & Living Arts in Ithaca, NY. Authenticity, practicality and simplicity are her constant aspirations; and sharing knowledge her passion. Jessica’s primary yoga mentors are Mira Mehta, Francois Raoult and Judith Lasater, all artistically inclined, life-long teachers originally trained in the Iyengar Method. She has Yoga Alliance and Advanced Relax and Renew certification and is the only teacher in the U.S. to be accredited under Mira Mehta.
