SANGHA = community
BOOK CLUB = opportunity to discuss and practice yoga principles
Over the course of four weeks, we will read How Yoga Works by Gesme Michael Roach. In this easy-to-read novel, Roach provides a clear and usable translation of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras—the 2,000-year-old text that serves as the foundation of modern yoga. The fictional story follows the journey of a young Tibetan woman who teaches those around her how to apply yoga principles to everyday life.
Each class, we will spend half the time discussing the reading and half the time practicing the yoga principles raised in the reading which may include asana (postures), pranayama (breath work), meditation, chanting, and more.
